Mr. Monster has always been an intriguing and offbeat character. Originally appearing just twice during the Golden Age—in Super Duper Comics #3 and Triumph Comics #3—he might have faded into obscurity if not for a revival decades later.
In 1984, writer and artist Michael Gilbert brought Mr. Monster back to life for Pacific Comics, reimagining the character with a fresh mix of pulp horror and quirky humor. When Pacific Comics folded in 1988, Gilbert took Mr. Monster over to Dark Horse, where the character continued to thrive with a loyal cult following.
