ELITE COMICS11 EXPO REVIEW
Last weekend was the Elite Comics 11 Expo in Queens, New York at St. John's College, and it was a doozy — a fun show for us, even though driving to NY is always a pain. The city is always crowded but easier to navigate; however, as you get out to the boroughs, everything gets a lot more confusing. But anyway, onto the real stuff — the show itself!
It was a solid show with a ton of comics. Not a ton of boxes to dig through, but that seemed to match the crowd — it wasn't the busiest show, but there were plenty of great books in the room and plenty of people looking to spend some dough. They expanded into a second room this year, and it seemed like that second room wasn't as busy. It's tough when you have to separate the floor.
One of the things I've started to notice with smaller shows that aren't in big convention centers is that promoters are bringing in food trucks, which I think is a genius idea. Having a few good options sitting right outside the doors makes life a lot easier for dealers and attendees alike.
We picked up a few cool books that should be hitting the website this week, so keep your eyes peeled — and enjoy the weekend!
