Happy Birthday, Matt Fish!

Taking a quick break from comics today to wish Matt Fish a happy birthday.

If you’ve been around Robo Picto for any amount of time, you’ve probably met Matt somewhere in the mix. Hosting our Whatnot shows, packing orders, working conventions, hauling boxes, digging through collections, loading the trailer, or getting pulled into whatever adam and i have decided is a completely reasonable thing to do that week.

That’s sort of the nature of this whole thing. Picto has always been a family operation, in the most literal sense. There’s no clean line between the business and everybody behind it. It’s late nights, long drives, heavy boxes, packing slips, arguments, inside jokes, bad food on the road, sweat equity and somebody inevitably asking another Fish brother for a favor.

Matt has been there for so much of it.

But before any of this, we were just three brothers who grew up together. we shared the same interests, watched the same movies, read the same comics, argued about stupid things and spent enough years under the same roof that there’s probably no version of any of us that exists completely independently of the other two.

The older I get, the more I appreciate that.

Life gets bigger and stranger. Everybody gets pulled in different directions. And somehow, through all of it, we still get to find ourselves together — whether it’s in a convention hall, prepping live shows, or talking about the same interests we’ve shared for decades, at this point.

There are worse ways to grow up.

Happy birthday, Matt.

Thanks for hosting the shows, packing the orders, putting in the miles, doing the heavy lifting, and continuing to show up for all of this.

Love you, brother!
