This issue features several western stories illustrated by Don Heck. The lead story, “Fool’s Gold” (13 pages), follows Tom Quillan, who rescues an Apache woman and is rewarded with access to a hidden gold source. A two-page text feature, “Outlaw Nightmare,” written by Ken W. Fitch with illustrations by Don Heck, recounts the story of Burton Mossman, the first captain of the Arizona Rangers.
Additional western stories include “Bloody Sheriff” (7 pages), in which a town sheriff secretly leads a gang of robbers while maintaining his public position of authority, and “Alone” (6 pages), about a young man who proves himself capable despite being underestimated by others.
The issue also contains several period advertisements typical of early 1950s comic books.
