Strange Spécial Origines #235 - G/VG 3.0
Strange Spécial Origines #235 (Hors Série) — 5 juillet 1989, Semic France — G/VG 3.0
A chunky French digest of pure Marvel DNA. Stan Lee présente… Les super-héros de A à Z—an 84-page crash course in capes, cosmic empires, and origin fires, bundled for the French newsstand. Ciro Tota’s pink, well-loved cover leads into a mixtape of landmark stories and Official Handbook pages, making this a terrific reader for anyone who digs Bronze/late-Silver touchstones in a single sitting.
What’s inside (en français):
• Les Gardiens de la Galaxie — the original 31st-century Guardians (Vance Astro, Yondu, Charlie-27, Martinex) from Marvel Super-Heroes #18, Gene Colan & Mike Esposito in full sci-fi swoop (abridged for this edition).
• Le Cavalier Fantôme — Marvel Spotlight #5: Johnny Blaze sells his soul and becomes Ghost Rider. Peak Mike Ploog atmosphere; the origin that launched a legend.
• Les Vengeurs — Avengers #16, the famous lineup shake-up: Cap leads a new squad with Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver as Iron Man & Thor step away.
• Plus a gallery of OHOTMU profile pages translated to French (Kree, Kro, K’un-Lun, Living Laser, Living Monolith, Living Mummy, Lizard, Lockjaw, and more), short features, puzzles, and house ads. Barcode and Semic legalese on the back round out that late-’80s kiosk vibe.
Maj. Picto’s Grading Notes
G/VG (3.0) — Presents solidly with heavy surface scuffing and color rub to the front (pink field shows wear plainly), spine stress and edge wear typical of read copies, and corner rounding/crease at lower right. Back cover shows overall rub and a couple of old price-sticker ghosts. Binding is sound for an 84-page magazine; interior pages complete, firmly attached, and readable with uniform cream/off-white toning. A perfectly serviceable bookshelf/copier—great for the content, priced below high-grade collector copies.
